"Connecting Singles" also refers to those who have already connected here and are no longer single - many couples stay in touch with friends and contribute to the forums.

I totally agree with all that you say and for those who think I am not being serious I actually met my now lovely life time husband partner and best friend on here in 2007. Simply testing the waters in friendship with humour. No offence intended to anyone reading my post :-.

Whilst this site can be used for many things, and cyber friends is one of them, it is a dating site for "connecting" singles.......
Often people forget this, or lose track of this.
There are many other sites around that are dedicated to just being pen-pals, and this site offers this if you want.
But for all intents and purposes, it is aimed at connecting singles so that they do not remain single.
Most people who are here, began here to meet someone for more than friendship. Some have remained, some gave up on this original purpose, and others have for what ever reason not found this special connection.
One can expand much cyber interacting with many from all walks of life, and cultures.
But this site primarily exists to connect singles in the hope that they will not remain single.
That is what it is about.
Facebook and many sites like it are for general friendships and the like.

Totally get what you are saying but I have very very fond memories of this site and I can assure you I certainly do know what this site was intended for and is intended for:-) I am happy enough to connect with new people and possibly reconnect with some old friends as I am sure that there are some still on here. I would say CS is more a sociak networking site, here is what CS says about the blogs
Blogs are journals about love, life, experiences, or lessons learned. Express your opinions, words of wisdom or just write about your day. Write one or read and comment on others. Blogs bring attention to your profile and mail to your inbox.

See its a free for all but also Its the best site in the world for finding the "real deal".
Just because you have found someone on the same site does not mean its a barrier to being you or reconnecting. People are my life personally and professioanlly.........we love them or dont understand them from where they are coming from and thats the progression in life that comes with experiences.

This is a great way to get to know people from all over the world which you would never of been able to know before.
I guess i am on here for the forums more than actual dating but who knows if the right guy comes along that could change ..

This site's primary function is that of connecting people who have a view to forming a romantic relationship, however, it offers so much more. You can use it as you please. If friendship, knowledge and enlightenment, or a good old laugh are what you seek, all can be found right here.
I tend to read and at times contribute to the forums, for this reason alone I am still on CS. If I was using this purely for dating, I would have deleted my profile many moons ago.
So yeah, its not just for dating.
