misterioinferno: what would you suggest on what to see and do in paris for three days and in amsterdam for two days?
I went 2 weeks back in sept last year. Amsterdam is the city I was born in. I have lived in the US since I was 11 back in 1958. I rented a hotel apartment, the Nemo hotel, right near the red light district. It was well worth it since it had a kitchen. It is close to everything worth while seeing in Amsterdam. De Dam where the palace is, the Rijks museum, De Kalver straat for shopping. The red light district is something everyone should see once in their life. There is a trolly (trem) system very close by that can take you anywhere you want to go. There is de Rondvaart, a passenger boat ride through the canals of Amsterdam, I highly recommend you take that ride. I highly recommend going inside the palace and the Rijks museum (Rembrand museum) for some of the most fantastic art works you will ever see. There is also the Van Gogh museum if you have time. I was not that thrilled by Van Gogh but many are. The centraal station is also close by where you can take the train to Paris or to the Airport, Schiphol,,,, Do bring Euros, nobody wants dollars or anything else there. I set my self up with my bank so that I could withdraw 2000 Euros a day. There is an ING bank close to De dam where there is an ATM where you can use your credit cards. Do bring 2 new cards. While I was there I bought a phone and service that allowed me call the US and anywhere in Europe. It cost me 30 Euros. If you bring a laptop or electronic equipment, do bring a converter if you need it. They have straight 2 wire 220 volt power there. Have fun,, try to stretch your stay a few more days,,,
I lived in paris for 4 or so years. You've got to see the biggies really:
Notre Dame Eiffel Tower Louvre (The mona lisa is smaller than you expect!) sacre coeur
Be sure to check out the Champs Elysee, the movies lied to you, it's pretty dull, but does lead to the arc de triomphe which is another picture worthy bit.
Night life? Well, I find paris "Discos!" to be rather bland and uninteresting unless you're happy to spend a small fortune.
Check out the Black Dog, it's a "Metal" bar, but houses the finest steak restaurant Ive ever, ever known. I cannot stress enough how good the steaks are. I have travelled back to paris for a night just for those steaks. And if metal is not your thing, you wont feel to be made unwelcome at all, and its not too loud when you're eating!
As for amsterdam, I've been there countless times, not lived though, although I dream to one day. You must see it all really, you can get lost there for hours, but never be too far away from anything. I recommend getting lost there. Wander around, absorb the really rich culture and incredible way of life there.

It depends on what your interests are but while in Paris I would not miss the Louvre Museum and the Pompidou Center and the D’orsey museum.
For Amsterdam, the Van Gogh museum I would not miss it either and also as a curiosity a café shop can be interesting to see just watch out if buying some goodies and make sure what it is in them.
What would you recommend for your country –place- to see?

Thanks MisterioInferno, however I have not plans for visiting your country but I have been at quite some places around it.
misterioinferno: is there anyone from paris or amsterdam here?????? does anybody hear meeee?????
No of course not. People in Amsterdam are too busy getting stoned to be using the internet. And people in Paris are too busy being obnoxious and arrogant to be online.
