The owner's are taking it one race at a time, they don't want to jeopardise her unbeaten record, worth more but say she is in even better form after recovering from her trip to Ascot, UK.

There is talk they might mate her with Frankel (think that is the name), a UK based stallion that has 14 unbeaten races to his name. Imagine how much them babies would be worth?? :mot

Being an ex horse breeder sometimes the best of breeds combinded can produce a dud I think a lot of the time it's the luck of the Irish Not saying a top quality horse like Black Caviar and a quality stallion cannot of course they can and do just saying sometimes even the best can't always produce winners. wine

Being an ex breeder of dogs, I do know how people only look for champions when breeding. Actually, it is not as hard as you think for a dog to get the title "Champion" put against its name. Matter of winning enough points (and that can be diffucult enough) to get that 'magic' number. But winning Best of Breed, Best in Group and ultinately Best in Show which which is the ultimate.

Some people tour the smaller shows with a dog that is fairly good and end up beating the local shows. But there are a lot of important large shows around where there are a lot of very good dogs and they don't win. And it also depends on who is judging and what favours they owe. In my last couple of years showing, I was very selective and favoured the larger shows with International judges. And could beat my main opposition more often than not compared to local shows and judges. You can carefully select the events you enter so that your chances of winning are much higher.

I got taught at an early age that it is the sire or dam who you should look for as they produced the champion. I was once a regular follower of racing but not for many years. I go to one country race every year and occasionally some other country races. I check out the form guide, look at the sires & dams and amazed at the number of top names I see.

Champions have bred flops - bit harsh but these are horses that are unable to compete in the major races. People have paid good money on the name of the sire or dam being a champion racer. After all the costs of buying, training and keeping the horse and then travelling all over the country side, they are looking for "wins" so that they can possibly get prodgeny money back.

Black Caviar's half-brother has a good chance of being a top horse.

Black Caviar should produce good offspring ....
