How do you "define" yourself??...What is your self-perception based on??
I know most would like to say that they are who THEY make themself out to be...but isn't your "character" based on what other people tell you?...
Your goodness...or lack of...your looks...or lack of...your generosity...or lack of...and your intelligence...these are just some, but don't we believe ourself to be what we are most defined as by other people??
I know some can become obsessed as well with what "others" think...and i don't think that is what i am speaking of here...that to me is a "sickness" of sort...to constantly need to be justified and validated by the words and thoughts of others....
That's a good one Wikked...As I believe it's a culmination of all the experiences that I have had up until this point in my life. I don't take into account how others see me, as they only take into account my physical and what words come out of my mouth at the moment. Unless they truly know me. I honestly don't see myself as others do... But I do know myself to be a goodhearted woman, with humility and kindness and a craving for adventure...Hope your having a great weekend Wikked!
I am my own person. Others like my or they do not, simple as that. Course, I do not go out of my way to make other feel like crap about themselves either. I think what goes around comes around.
I am tenaciously loyal, protective, and supportive of those I care about, and have a very strong nurturing, motherly nature. I empathize with others and intuitively sense the feelings and needs of other people. Compassionate and sympathetic, I am easily moved by others' pain, and I am often the one others seek out when they need comfort, reassurance, or help. My moods fluctuate and change frequently and I am sometimes open, sometimes withdrawn emotionally. I communicate nonverbally and appreciate a person who can pick up subtle cues and hints, rather than having to make everything explicit. I never forget either kindness or unkindness shown to me. I am confident enough in the look’s department without being conceited as I feel I am no better than anyone else. We all put our pants on one leg at a time and we are all Gods children, may he bless us all Sadeyes
I think that one word pretty much defines who I am.
Not to be confused with 'naïve'. Innocence simply means having no evil intent. Naïve means to be unwise or lacking insight. I know what's going on. I just have no evil intent.
In fact, that would also be the perfect word to describe the type of woman I would like to meet.
This is as bad as in the beginning of your profile explaing "About You". I just try to be genuine. I pay attention to things I feel need improvement then try to improve them. An example would be, how many times in your life have you thought "oh I should have done this, or said that" ? If it makes you a better person, next time try to do it that way. Kevin
I believe the one thing that truly defines me is my daughter, now that she is a young adult and making her own decisions. What she does and how she acts, responds, morally, ethically, socially, reflects who I am, which defines me.

I'm not sure our character is based on what other people tell us, we are what we are and it is much more as how they see us. It can be quite a reality check sometimes to find out what others think of us. A text I recieved recently was quite harsh, but they had not read my text correctly and their answer did not reflect my request, does that define something in them? On the other hand, two friends helped me with personal references for a new job in the last week and they both showed such support I was quite warmed by their words.
Everyone defines us differently, mostly depending on how well they know us.
