I had read the book a few years before the film came out. As is usually the case, the book is even more heart wrenching.

Message in a Bottle. I was sobbing when I walked out of the theatre.

I used to watch sad movies and wondered why I purposely set myself up to feel more grief than I needed...so now I avoid them. I'll make an exception for a movie that brings tears of joy though. laugh

Well its not exactly a movie but more of a documentary, it was about a boeing 747 going in for a "D" check and there a was a segment in it that showed a 747 at the end of its service life being broken up by an excavator... that made me cry.... crying

this may sound strange but The Sandlot

not so much the movie itself I guess but it reminded me so much of where I grew up and how different it is for kids today...they lose that kind of innocence at such an early age now.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned Marley & Me crying

I used to cry at a lot of movies.....I stopped watching them laugh

City of Angels.....I cried whilst reading the book (if it's the same one I'm thinking of). I read it when I was a young teenager and have never forgotten it!!
