So Ladies, this is a simple question or it should be.
If you were to buy a cologne or fragrance for the man in your life, something almost more for yourself (cause you really like it ) than for him, but it's still a gift you are getting for him.
Which one of the thousands out there would you choose?? Well maybe your top three choices ...preferably on that order.
Thank You for taking the time to consider this question and for sharing your opinion!!

Dear paydaydave, please excuse me for crashing in on your thread, It's just that in the extremely unlikely event that a woman would buy me after shave, this one is the one I love. It won't happen but I can dream.

I rarely like commercial chemically things, but I do know that they are interactive with natural body aroma. Something can smell divine on one man and like industrial waste on another. Nearly all women's commercial scents smell like industrial waste and I don't know how men put up with it.
Its one of the mistakes that men make when buying gifts. I worked in a perfumery for a while in my student days and most men worked on the assumption that the status/price of the perfume was its salient feature without paying any attention to their loved one's individuality. Given most cost only a few pence to produce despite the arm-and-a-leg you pay, that's pretty stupid.
Having said that, the Body Shop (back in the days when it still had some integrity for its claimed ethos) created an aftershave which I liked so much, I'd occasionally find myself compulsively following the scent around the supermarket, before I'd have the "Wtf?" moment at my own stalkerish behaviour.

paydaydave: Thank you for your well detailed and personal response!
Do you have any idea if that particular aftershave is still made, and any chance you can remember the name of it?
Thank you again...Dave.
If that was directed at me, no, its not still made, but it had a musk ingredient, I remember that.
If you're looking for something, go and get a batch of samples from a perfumery, or try their testers one at a time. (Places like the Body Shop also do this).
You'll have an initial scent when you first use a product, but over time the undertones of the scent will develop as the overtones fade. If you like the way the scent develops on you, it probably suits you.
I would usually get something that he likes "and I like too" in a cologne or fragrance. Or we would go out and check out different cologne or fragrance. I would not be the type of person...here were this I like it...
