Monday went to the doctors and surgeons, ended up with a $100 parking ticket? Surgeon refuses to operate now? Due to the insurance companies legal questions?
Wednesday get home early all good, then a loud bang? Glass sliding door explodes and starts making loud cracking sounds, $200 minimum claim cost?
Today finally get a message from the people that are doing the credit for the solar panels! Apparently the guy that did the paperwork got it wrong and the application didn’t go through?

I think I need a holiday?
doh

Not allowed holidays! I am on workers comp/ restricted duties? Not allowed to stand or walk for more than ten minutes, plus two drivers are on holiday and one driver is still stuck in Melbourne? His flight was cancelled, he was supposed to be at work today?

wash2u:

Hopefully, you can convince Juliar that you are worthy of getting the rebate on your solar panels - we are coming up to an election so hit (don't mean violently) your local pollie to see what he can do for you. They are all desparate for your support/vote.

Not sure how it will work out but I better get my discount! I signed a contract. Its their fault if they didn’t process the paper work! Isn’t there a ACCC policy that if they overcharge you? You get the item for free?

Never heard of an ACCC policy of getting it for free if they overcharge you.

There are some State Laws regarding that they do have to repay you the overcharge and may also be liable for any reasonable costs involved in arguing it and winning. This usually does involve taking them to court - VCAT in Vic.

However, if they have been dishonest in what they did (lied to you that you are eligible), then ACCC may get involved. But it often does end up in a legal battle that may be more expensive for you to fight (they count on it) than just give up.

Some Law Firms such as Slater & Gordon, Maurice Blackburn, and a few others, do take on Class Actions when a company (and usually a very large and solvent company) has done mega-dollar out-of-pocket costs or dishonest deals to customers which were not indicated to them at any time.

Best you seek legal advice on where to go next. Not sure (and this is not the right Forum to talk about it) if you paid the total amount upfront or if you paid the advertised 'rebated price.'

But sure many are eager to hear the outcome so they don't get ripped off or have a way to get justice if they do.

Wishing you luck with this one.

Its in their consumers rights legislation, over here a shop cannot refuse a full refund, or if they over charge you at the till, they have to give you the item for free plus your money back, its like a reverse shoplifting policy? You walk into their shop and they try to rob you? You can actually press charges and take the store to court!
Its in our rights to get what we paid for, and demand a full refund if an item doesn’t do what the store said it will do?

I remeber years ago where Woolies had a policy of refunding the whole purchase price if you were overcharged on an item.

But I do recall a case where someone in NSW actually wanted to sue a store for overcharging and took them to court over some piddling amount. It related to where they had started the bar-codes and an item came up on the register higher than the label on the shelf. Before that, every item had a price label on every single item. Final judgement was that the price at the checkout in the store to the customer was the price the price being offered to the customer and it was up to the customer to accept the price offered at the checkout (you have to watch it being scanned).

Main reason being that some other customer may have swapped the price listed on the shelf to get a cheaper item - had that once when I bought something which was about $10 but scanned for less than $5. Either they had put the wrong barcode on or someone swapped the labels, and then didn't want the item. I was a bit slow and queried the price but the girl said "that was what it scanned and that is what you are going to be charged."thumbs up wow dancing
