Sailfree1: The sites that charge are the worst offenders for scammers. They just want the $$$$$ Fake profiles are used for many reasons.
Hi sail.......Short break but it's interesting isn't it how it can effect the stock exchange.
"The Aim-listed group rejected as “misrepresentation and ill-informed speculation” allegations that fake “flirtatious” messages had been used to encourage users to sign up for paid subscriptions.
The firm’s websites allow people to register for free but they must pay to reply to messages." yahoooooo
I don't know how they were cleared as they do the same as other dating sites.
I do not undertstand how any multi-site owning company can get away with using its members profiles and details after they join one site, on their other sites without the individual members specific permission.
Whilst it is probably in the small print, at best it is Fraudulent and must breach indivdual right to confidentality and privacy so the law needs tightening.

There's one particular online dating service and social networking service like that based in Canada marketed primarily to people who are already in a relationship with the slogan "Life is short. Have an affair."
That site receives an estimated 1,800,000 visitors per month
