As in the news Australian Telco made an agreement with the USA to share your private conversations, texts and email.

Seriously this is all starting to sound like communism to me.

Well unless we are discussing matters of national importance or high business or espionage, I doubt very much whether the USA or Australian governments care very much about what the little people are discussing. laugh

I do think we need to be a bit mindful of what we put out about ourselves in social media etc, as perspective employers or police authorities can easily access this information and use it to form opinions about our characters etc.

I think if you wouldn't be comfortable saying it in public then don't put it on social media. scold

As for private conversations, I guess we should be aware that they might not be that private after all. sigh

You are so right there AA. I watched a show recently, think it was 4corners, about how a Chinese company hacked into an Australian companies computer system while a representative was staying in a hotel in that country. The spyware they planted was then able to access their database and steel confidential blueprints to one of their products. They then produced an inferior product and sold it to unsuspecting customers for a lower price. This had a devastating affect on that company. Apparently it's happening more and more.

Everyone knows AU, UK and USA are front runners in world corruption, hopefully all this will get exposed by others like Snowden.

Even without any further leaks he has managed to put the fear and mistrust amongst these organizations.

thumbs up thumbs up thumbs up

Where ever their is power there is corruption, that's for sure. At least these whistleblowers are playing a part in exposing it. It's a high price they pay though.
