I wouldn't say any bar. If it's a drinking pub the same crowd goes to every night, no way.
If it's a nice place for socialising, good food, some music, people to talk to and a mixed crowd, it does work.
I like heading out on the weekends dancing and catching up with friends and someone sitting at home watching DVD's every night wouldn't be for me.

It seems like bars are full of men who drink too much, engage in risky behaviors, cheat on their spouses, drink and drive, dress and smell like crap, throw darts at people's heads and all that fun stuff. Let's go! WOO!

Well, I think it depends on your definition of an "ideal partner". Me personally, not on your life.

I have no problem with the idea of meeting people in bars
Where else do adult people get out and about, if they're not having a drink, maybe listening to some music and generally socializing ..

If you go to a nice class of "bar", i find the women that go there, do so because they want to have a nice quiet chat,and not be bothered by men who have to much to drink,and bother them.
I often get chatting to them,as they can see that i am there for company,not just to drink as much as i can.
I have never drunk alcohol,as i dont like the taste,and i have no problem with someone who likes a drink.Like a lot of women,what i dont like is the one that doesnt know when to stop,and just becomes a pain in the neck.
