I am 58 so the 60's were my time of childhood. We called flip flops, thongs and they were made of rubber, not considered stylish, practical. Hula Hoops I could never keep it going . The Beatles first USA appearance on Ed Sullivan Show. I was 9 but remember it well. 45 record singles and vinyl albumss. 1st was used in late 60's and hippies wearing tie dye shirts, done at home.
I remember segregation, Sundown Towns, and a girl I was playing cards with being ordered to leave the seat and go to the back of the bus when we crossed a State line. I remember Elvis and the Beatles. I remember the Dallas book depository, a guy named Sirhan Sirhan, a man named Martin Luther King and a sick crazy guy named James Earl Ray. I remember staying up to 2AM to watch the Eagle land. I remember Woodstock and the Tet Offensive and a picture of a little girl running down the road screaming with her back covered with flaming napalm.

I remember no seat belts, no air conditioning in cars. Smoking in stores, resteraunts they did not have a warning lable on the pack of smokes then. I remember Michael Jackson as a little boy. Ed Sullivan show. There were no cordless phones none the less mobile phones. I remember gathering soda bottles to take to the store for a deposit money where I could buy candy. Doctors made house calls. I remember hearing of the Charles Manson trials on the news. And I remember they use to have cigarette comercials on tv but would of never had an ad for tampons or kotex. The first time they did we were eating dinner and my dad got up run over and turned the tele off. I thought he was going to have a stroke. I remember thinking that my life would always be like it was. I would not age. I would not have responsibility. My time would be spent lazing around the beach and bon fires at night with friends. Ok enough from me

You remember segregation? Golly. It wasn't all that long ago, eh? And still such a long way to go.
I remember having some of the best friends of my life knowing all of the neighbors the great music,,, me and my buddys loading up in the car going out and looking for girls and just having fun. it was a time when we didn't no as much as we do today,,, I also remember a kid a couple of years older than me great guy when ever I would see him he would give me a stick of gum and ask me how I was doing he went to Vietnam and never came back such were the times of the sixty's
galrads: are v-jeans like inverse bell bottom jeans? maybe either would be popular worn in discos or while spiking the mike on a mobile cb radio.
Sorry, v-jeans was the word used in Sweden. Did you use jeans with wide legs? Not to mention platform shoes combined with disco music. I'm glad it's 2013 now!

Yeah, everyone was Kung Fu fighting in bell-bottom jeans. Everyone wanted to be like Bruce Lee.

Yeah I remember sitting in front of the TV with my older brother at some ungodly hour of the morning waiting for the Beatles to arrive here in Aus
I had a crystal set with earplugs and used to listen to music in bed at night
Loved my bike and rode it everywhere, they were simple and happy days

happy369: will check it out later...how do you post youtube vids?
Step 1:
Get a couple of square brackets [ ] [ ]
Step 2:
Inside those square brackets type in: youtube in the first one and /youtube in the second one.
(This example has spaces in it so you can see whats its supposed to look like, normally there are no spaces inside the square brackets)
Step 3: Copy and paste the URL of the song you want INBETWEEN the square brackets:
