im not down with loyalty cards and coupons...why not just make goods cheaper for all...
and getting stuck behind people with money off vouchers in tesco wrecks my head, and yes, i know, i should use the auto tills instead!...
and finally, on paper business in shops...please can we see auto lotto machines in shops, im bored of standing in line while they get their lotto tickets validated, while my hot lunch gets steadily colder...
yes, i hate shopping, but im to poor to have a 'professional shopper', maybe you might have named the thread 'shopping nightmares'...

The ones that really get me are the ones who have been standing in the cue for ages and when they finally get served route around in their handbags for 5 minutes looking for the bloody purse, couldn't they have got the friggin' thing ready whilst they were waiting in line FFS!!

well spotted mars,

but what about those other bug-bares, the last minute 'oh, i forgot something' shopper, and its always at the back of the bleedin shop and the 'warranty returns' while there is a que...
you can almost hear the other shoppers *sizzling* at this point, na, shopping is a case of in, out, no hanging about...
and i hate to say this coz it makes me seem like a tyrant, but parents letting kids loose with the shopping cart, wassup, the family car not good enough?....

ok, ill behave...

....and people having in depth convo's with till staff about alf's ingrowing toe nail...

I always use my Dunnes, Supervalu and Tesco loyalty cards and get some benefits from them with coupons in the post. I only use them if I would buy the product anyway or if it makes a product I could use a lot cheaper. Once a week I go to my local Tesco at 7pm to pick up the bargain cuts of meats reduced as they're about to go off and loaves of their own breads reduced to pennies which can go into my freezer. With 5 adult appetites in my house it costs loads to keep them fed even with these savings. My fave programme at the moment is Superscrimpers which gives you tips on saving money while still having a decent quality of life. Some tips don't work for me with my family and some tips I've been using all my life anyway but the show inspires me to use my imagination to find bargains and still live well.

The returns doesn't bother me that much cos faulty goods is faulty goods and they have every right to get their money back.
But the ones who "forget," should have all their shopping dumped back in their trolley/basket and have it hidden on them when they disappear to the back of the shop!!!

As for the conversationalists with the staff, I don't so much mind them, it is the ones nattering whilst blocking the aisle/doors/walkways so no one can get past them that pisses me off, and then the look they give ya when you say "excuse me," as if to say how dare you interrupt us.

One of their tricks is to raise prices on a few things for a short while and then drop them back down again. Then again, I can't complain. I shop a lot there.

Believe it or not, I know people who would not be seen dead in either Lidl or Aldi, and plenty more who won't admit they do their main shopping there. They still think they are living in the celtic tiger era, and still think Lidl and Aldi are for the plebs.

The day the Lidl opened in my local town, I have been shopping there, and boy did I notice the savings, even though their prices have been increasing steadily, they are still way cheaper than any other of my local supermarkets, there is also talk of an Aldi coming to near where I live, and the sooner the better.
thumbs up

I always do my main shop in my local Aldi. I don't think I could survive at all without it. I really hope they open up in every town in Ireland to make food shopping cheaper for everyone. thumbs up
