I always think that star signs themselves are basically the range of personalities that people fall into which is why when one describes the traits attributed to a certain one, a lot of people are amazed as it is usually spot on.

my star sign seems to be pretty right for me, in most ways but I find my chinese zodiac even more accurate.
But wish it was as easy as picking a star sign to find the right person!
but I dont tend to put my cred into what the stars say day to day as generally they are written in such a way that you can interpret them for what is going on in your life. Either that or.. they want you to pay money to find out more!

Well, I think that there is validity in using them to check potential compatibility. The problem is when people use them to live their lives, and to make judgements about others.
I also have found the Chinese Astrology very useful in searching for compatible partners.
I would never ever again get involved with someone of my ex-wife's star sign. Just not compatible in any way really.
So for me, the star signs were an important factor, but not the sole factor in my choices.
Most certainly do,I am a Virgo through and through.
And there are only 2 other signs that I really connect with.

I imagine most of us with even a small amount of intelligence can logically reason that astrology is not scientifically proven or even logical. I hazard a guess most don't take it too seriously but rather as a bit of light hearted fun with just a curious passing interest.
Perhaps the reason some people take an interest is because it meets a few basic human needs.
A sense of assurance about the future
Some sense of their present situation being driven by another force and there for out of their control
And a feeling of being connected to something bigger than themselves and part of a big picture.
Be it light hearted entertainment or just giving reassurance in times of uncertainty, I don't see much harm in it as long as it doesn't replace rational decision making based on logic.
