jono7: i really enjoy scrabble and it's not so much who wins, but the lame made up words (usually under the influence...lol) that make me laugh. we have a 'rule' that if a word is challenged...one must use it in a sentence....and that's the part that gets us laughing.

(we actually don't play against each other. we add up both scores for a total and see how we did compared to previous games.)

Question:

how do you know if you're doing a good job?

put on a cheesy romantic comedy and ask him what he is thinking about
then hopefully he will run away and fix the bathtub!

What is the most romantic gesture you have ever received or given?

this is a great question, and a good idea for a thread...hint hint

there have been lots.... i've been spoiled....
so i don't have a favourite grin

without giving too many secrets away... here's one:

it was getting near midnight on new year's eve... sitting at home watching tv with no plans that i knew of.

i was told to get my coat and we were going for a drive.
He drove us to the beach, parked, turned up the heat, and opened the sun roof and we watched the stars while listening to a cd with some of my favourite tunes that he had made. at midnight we watched the fireworks down the beach, and up the mountain, from the comfort of our own little piece of paradise. it was magical, and i was amazed that we were the only car there. smitten

Question:

same question....
what is the most romantic gesture you have given or received?

Just let a woman at it and she'll toss out all the tidbits (aka metal objects that don't mean much to her).laugh Heck I even struggle to name the different types of screwdrivers which in fact may be a great question!

Describe the shape and give the name of different screwdrivers

FFS, go off to learn a little, and come back to this. doh

Yes, I've been snowshoeing many times, even own two pairs, but haven't done any for several years.

Hmmm, screwdrivers....

(cocktail)

Then there are....

Slotted, which is what many women have destroyed butter knives with, and is also known as a flat head, straight screw, and should have been banned at the turn of the last century, world wide.

Phillips, which is also called a star head, and also should have been banned many decades ago, especially in Canada.

Posi-drive, which is much like a Phillips, but has for smaller additional points, which GM and the Brits used on their vehicles, and also should have been banned for use in Canada.

Robertson, which has been called "square recess" in the US, due to patent laws, and is a Canadian invention, which is a square shape. It comes in sizes from #0 to #4, the most common being #2, and has been around for over 100 years.

Torx, which is a 6 sided head, with recesses in between each side, which ha also been used by auto manufacturers, and if memory serves correct, introduced by GM into the automotive market.

Allen, or a simple hex, which has been used by almost everyone for anything from set screws to Ikea furniture, but isn't commonly associated with a "screwdriver", but I have quite a few on "driver" handles.

There are also lesser know variants, like clutch, "tamper proof" in many profiles, and others I won't bore you with, but just figured I'd mention that they in fact exist. nerd

Hmmm, a question...

Do you still strive to learn, educate yourself, and if so, do it because you want to, not because it's required? dunno

i love learning, whether researching some of my own interests or learning about other folks' interests as well.

Q: keeping with kid's idea of learning, or educating oneself....what's an interest you pursue?
