Men are indeed much happier on their own. The single blokes probably don't believe that. The freedom to do what you want when you want is just amazing. I really love it. I know single women are free to do that too but I think most if not all of them really yearn for company. Men are wired differently.
Yes, there were always confirmed batchelors but for most men marriage was necessary to advance their career and social life. People just didn't trust single men with responsible jobs unless they knew they were 'tied down'. I guess today people are tied down by other means.

That's exactly how National Socialism came about. It is just another step on from the Marxists. It's what happens when people get pissed off by socialist crap and decide to destroy it.
