I felt one of them down here in Christchurch, it was the 5.5 one.

It was 6.2 here in Wellington :(.. guess im going up north lol
I got onto the motorway at 3pm and was moving at 50Km/h.
Got back to the yard fine.
The call went out for the CBD to empty early and it turned into chaos. We had 3 trucks stuck in gridlock in town. And 2 trucks in motorway gridlock in petone.
I finished work at 4pm and the motorway was moving normally on the way home, saw 2 of the trucks, stop-start in the other direction lol.
Got back to the yard fine.

Tell you friend to come back, it's quieter here now and there are no more buildings left to fall down

I seriously couldnt get her to calm down.....
She just didnt wanna drive.,So i had to ring her hubby
to get him to calm her down even then it took
forever just to get connected on the phone...

Yep, the one I felt this arvo from Seddon was very gentle, more used to the violent jolts we usually get here in CHCH

yea , no upward or quick sideways just gentle waveIt came on our Just in ... AbC about 3pm... I was at work, so I read it...
The story is exactly as you described it... with some companies sending peeps home, because the elevators were not working, the traffic chaos, all of what you guys mention..
So sorry for all you ... your nerves must be stressed..
