I my self know that when I travel,as soon as I start I feel like I big burden has been lifted off my shoulders,

After travelling and not being on any time limit, then return back to living in a house and such I start to feel the tension start.

frustrated

But life is what it is, and you make the best of what you have.

Some people go out in their big exspensive RV. Some go with tent, some go with caravan and so on,but no matter whom you chat with they are all very happy.

Met one lady once from Sydney they were in this Hugh big 5th wheeler. And she said her husband went and got it to surprise her,she said I hate it too dam fancy too frightened to touch anything,

In the past we have mainly camped and a lot of people have said I need a van or camper but
I don't know we still have a great time.would make things a bit easier with some thing else.

Would still like to find a bus though.

laugh

I know a man lives out in a secluded area of beach area near Townsville and he is on a pension and he is so happy, away from all the pressures of city life.

Glad you got away from the area before the rain hit.laugh

Was worth the move out to Windorah and missing the rain. heard later from a few people how bad it was. Stopped on Cooper Creek. I know pelicans all look alike but there was one still crusing up the creek when I was there this time.

Feels good to wake up to stuff like this.

Truth be told, this non-working caper is not all it is cracked up to be. Get phone calls all day.

"Wouldn't aluminium cladding look great on your place and improve the value of your fine property?" Does it go over bricks?

"I am calling on behalf of xxxxx Roller Shutters and they will not only make your home safe from burglars but help to insulate your your wonderful home and increase the value of your property." No, I have rose bushes with big thorns up against every window in my place which would scar any burglar, and they insulate the place.

"We are offering a special discount offer where we will repaint your roof if you are willing to keep one of our advertsising signs out the front of your wonderful home for the next 20 years." Son-in-law's mate has just done that for me for the cost of the products only. "But we are offering a special price just for you if you are willing to display our sign."frustrated

"We are offering to just you our very special price on solar electricity. Imagine never paying a power bill again." Sorry, I have considered this to not be a viable option for me. Thank you for calling. "But wait, we are offering such a good deal. Why do you not want to listen to this wonderful offer?" I have done the calculations and do not feel that it will offer a viable return in my lifetime.

"But sir, why do you say that when you have not listened to our very special offer just for you?"

Is it me or is that people who have to rock their head from side to side when talking do not understand you do not want the product?

Okay, I know these people are trying to make a living but when will they understand that some people are polite.

Got very frustrated with the lady with an accent who would not let up about the solar power. I repeated that "I have done the calculations and do not feel that it will offer a viable return in my lifetime."

She was insistant that it was such a great deal that I could not refuse. I ended up saying "I will be dead before it breaks even for me." And she kept telling me what a great deal they were offering.

I am usually polite because they are trying to make a living but they are trying my patience.

Wash have you had your number listed with

?

It wont stop charities etc ringing you or overseas callers but should stop the Australian based ones.

Might filter out some of the calls for you

It does not really make a difference. Back in the early 80s I was a real estate salesman. We had a 'backwards' phone directory that listed the numbers in numerical order for the areas we worked. We would do 10 calls per day to signup or sell properties.

Daughter pays for a silent number and still gets calls.

A mate will let all calls go to his answering machine and will only pickup when he knows who it is if he is there...lives a bit isolated.

I have also scored a couple of free lunches from answering the calls so sometimes it is worth it.

But I think Lookin would be interested in the Donut Call hotline.

When the missus and I had the general store, Friday was "Donut Day." All the fresh ceam ones would go on Friday with the weekends being the Pineapple or Jam Donuts being heated up in the microwave over the weekend. More so in cooler months for the hot donuts
