My father drowned when he was 41. I'm sure he imagined he would live to a ripe old age. He didn't have a will. Therefore, his assets were not passed down to his children. At the age of 15, I simply couldn't understand all of the arguing and divisiveness this caused. All I could think of at that time was a life without my father.

The positive side is, I've stood alone on my own two feet since the age of 15, am independent, a doer, a decision maker, and am able to bring concepts to reality. flower

I don't have a will cause I've already given my son what I wish him to have.

What my guy and I have bought together since living together will go to him.

If he should pass away before me whatever is his goes to me.

What I do have of his means the world to me. When my grandmother passed (his mother), I snuck into her home before the powers-that-be got in there, and took some photographs. Photos of him as a boy, in high school, wedding photos of he and my mother. I took a few pieces of his jewelry, cufflinks in particular. His high school yearbooks and awards. A few of his baby clothes even. And his high school letter sweater. I keep these in a small chest in my bedroom near me.

My stepfather had a will and his youngest son and I were the only ones mentioned in his will.

He stated in his will that his other Adult children were getting nothing cause they were worth nothing. His older children turned on me cause of what their father's will said about them.
