Yes, as with most religions, Islam was given by God through its Prophet Mohammad for the benefit of all mankind. That is true. As was each of the self-declared evangelizing religions and many other philosophies.
I agree Islam has among its foci a peaceful existence and co-habitation with others in the world.
Almost without exception, each faith/religion has had or presently has among its followers those who take extreme positions in most cases not supported or advocated by the religions original tenets and founders. Unfortunately, the present state of the world confirms Islam is no different from other religions/philosophies which have had extremists and had portions of its followers advocating philosophies, attitudes and approaches which are harsh, exclusionary and punitive in nature.

2. Islam is the religion that established the right of woman in every step of life.
3. In holy Quran Allah declare to all mankind that "Your paradise will be under the feet of your mother", which set the position of all woman above all.
4. Islam never teach to be violent or cruel to any other religion, But Islam teach to be respectful to all religion and all mankind.
5. Last but not least Allah send the holy Quran for ALL MANKIND not only for muslim. It is the simplest way of understanding that Islam is a Religon of peace. I wrote this point based on small knowledge on Islam. I have no complain about any other religion but what I believe that if you want to talk about any other religion its better to know properly before you tell some thing.
