when I was in my early 20's, very unwell and feeling very low about myself a man whom I have always loved and respected told me that "if he was 30 years younger and single he would marry me"
hmmm maybe I should go see if he still feels the same, he is now single... but @ 93 in a nursing home!

Had lots and lots of good things so I'm very lucky .. can't think of anything really bad probably because I'm full of it so wouldn't have listened anyway

Only ever had a few nice things said to me and I'm a bit hazy on what they were.
As far as the hurtful things, I have managed to block them out of my memory fairly well and I don't intend to refresh them by listing them here.

I have lots of good things said daily.. I guess..
Sorta is the culture I work in...
Hurtful... yes.. sometimes hurtful things get said.. but I try to think that at those times.. that either I was being a cow at the time, or the person that said it.. was not at all well... or out of sorts with the world... or whatever..
Mix of both over a lifetime I guess.

jem1964: ah the ex was trying to play mindgames, he got just as good back from me as I realised what he was doing, but I guess because I remember it, it did still hurt.
