Conviction in speech is a wonderful thing, but how many use it?

Do you prefer to tell white lies in pretend agreement,
or
being called rude for speaking an honest opinion?

BEING RUDE AND BEING HONEST ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. YOU CAN ALWAYS SPEAK YOUR HONEST OPINION POLITELY (imo)

I've always stood by my conviction tell things like they are but get labeled a rude person.

I wouldn't know any other to be but ME.

I am who I am and what you see is what you get.

Neither I prefer to speak my honest opinion and not be called rude. Tho I do know what you are saying. People have a tendency to get upset if you do not agree with them and heaven forbid if you verbalize it. hmmm so I guess with the two options I will accept being called rude and remind myself that people are entitled to their opinions. I have been called a lot worse bouquet

Expression counts more than conviction.

What is truth in an emasculated culture is not what is factually spoken, but what is well spoken. Not what is right, but what sounds good. Which is why for the multitude the truth is whatever it continually reads and hears.

Anybody against the norm and who grasps an element of essential truth is sure to commit so many minor errors in his expression that he defeats himself before he can establish his own point. Meanwhile the Lords of Lies continue unabated with all the moneypower and armies of unblinking sophists they have at their disposal.

That's interesting because that's exactly what I'm constantly criticised for - exploring to find the right words, rather than almost the right words.

yes, i can see that today; just look into Kerry´s statements last 2 days in the congress, or your PM 2 weeks ago. yes, "society" accepts "expressions", rather than principles, but it does seams to change... "Conviction is worthless unless it is converted into conduct.” Thomas Carlyle
