Is it normal for men or women to say they dont like kids..afterall its a equal society we live in?
Im sure men have this on their profile too..but the OP would only be looking at female profiles.
Men on these forums have admitted they would never date a woman with kids, so an option for..'i want my own..only', would be the proper choice.I think whistler is right bout the dont like one..with regards to other peoples kids..and that is why the option might be there..means parents can go..nope..nexxxt, some people just go well with children who arent theirs..and its normal and honest to admit this.
With regards to women not wanting kids..like dave said..its only socially acceptable to actually admit this in recent years..
I cant help thinking that given the choice centuries back less abusive or apathetic mothers woulda been created, a bit like cruel men who can leave their children and dont contact them, some people just arent built for love of their young, and now since contraception has been invented, we have the choice.
Now dont get me wrong..not all women or men who dont want kids would be in this bracket of the abusive or apathetic ..im sure a large portion are softened once the new life comes.., and there are many other reasons why they dont want kids.
We parents know how beautiful and life changing our children are..some people are scared bodywise, lifewise and emotionwise to put every ounce of their being, future and freedom into creating life, to the point they wont..others arent scared they just dont feel that is their role in life..to create the next line.
the bottom line is..
why is it when someone doesnt want to do exactly as 'nature' intended, do we feel they are wrong and have to be questioned, ..they arent hurting anyone.

their growlers probably stink..even if they wanted a child no man in his right mind would go near it in the first place never mind put his pride and joy inside it
Ever thought that you have to have the right partner to have children? 
I'm not Irish and looking around my Irish friends and also the attitude of my ex - I wouldn't call what they have family life and have no aspirations whatsoever to get into a similar situation. (speaking only of examples I personally know, not saying that everyone is like this). In my last relationship children were on the agenda and the attitude my ex came out with when we discussed it is one of the main reasons why I walked out. Yes, he wanted children, but nothing to do with them, no family life, no time and no commitment to them. I wouldn't have done that to me, let alone a child.
I like children, have nieces and nephews and spend time with friends kids. I also have no burning desire to get any of them anytime soon. I think if I would be in a relationship where is would be a topic, we could talk about it. Otherwise, I like my life the way it is, have lots of plans which don't involve kids, I like travelling, being spontanous, go somewhere and just do things and don't miss anything in my life.
Each to their own and BOTH partner have to be on the same page.

I don't understand such women. I really don't. I think the best thing is not to waste time thinking about it, trying to work it out.
I really believe that both the man and the woman in a relationship should either want children, or not want them. I don't think that children are something about which a couple could compromise. It would lead to huge arguments, etc. If a couple had a child, and either the man or woman didn't really want it, I think that would be very bad for the child.

i fit into the category of not wanting children. iv not got a maternal bone in my body, have no desire to have children and iv always been that way. part of my reasoning is i know i couldnt financially support a child and having that child rely on me for the first 18 years of its life(give or take) is not something i think i could do added to the fact i run out of patience with small humans very quickly, people always say its different when their yours but i would hate to have a child to find out that i was right all along and end up ruining the childs life by being a rubbish mother.

I don't know it baffles me too, I most certainly would like children was never in the right relationship to even contemplate it. Now 36 and can honestly say I would be really gutted if I never got that chance and have decided and put money away that if I am still single at 40 that I would have one. It may sound corny but all I ever wanted is to be a mother, a jobs a job it pays the bills, children are forever.
