Just been keeping up to date with this case of Elaine O'Hara, very sad stuff indeed! sad flower Sounds like a very strange case, made all the more chilling; and perhaps a bit closer to home with the statement from RTE news today that said:

"Gardaí are also examining the possibility that she may have met someone through online dating sites."

uh oh Now, yeah, I know, theres lots of sites and lots of people on these sites and youre as likely to meet a crazed murderer in 'real life' or on facebook as you are here, but still, it may knock the whole 'online' thing back a step or two if it does prove to be the case!!!

Now, the circumstances of the case, I'm just surmising! I don't know, but, it just got me thinking; from a male point of view, but, are their any women here whom would go somewhere remote or out of public view for a 'first date'?? I'm looking at profiles on POF for instance and I see women whose 'first date' they have down as 'a nice hike', 'a drive in the countryside', 'a walk on the beach', seriously I'd have to worry about the mentality of women whom would entertain those notions for a meet up! Its Ludacris, now, whether they actually go through with it, I doubth it, but still, the idea is obviously in their heads! dunno

I dunno, women, ladies, girls.......whats your thoughts? Has anyone you've met scared you? Freaked you out? Made you really uncomfortable???

Yes, I did have a very unnerving "date" with one guy...not from this site. It rattled me for quite a while afterwards.

I wouldnt let what was said on rte scare me away from internet dating..
theres a lot of stalkers/weirdos out there that are persistent in trying to ruin peoples lives.. suppose you gotta take the good with the bad..

It's only a theory at the moment that it might be someone she met from a dating site.

Bad and all as it is at least they found her body, it's a lot worse for the families of the "disappeared", chances are they will never find those bodies.

The simple answer is meet in a public place - in day light - and drink tea/coffee. You never know who's out there and who's watching.
Saying that, I have met(and not from any date site)some scary bloke in Aldi, I was answering a text and he just walked upto me and started chattinghelp He followed me around the shop, He was behind me all the way through check out. I stopped behind the check out and let him leave first...I watched him leave and then and only then did I go for my car.
So be carefull no matter where you areireland

Yep was freaked out once and have no doubt I could have been in danger if I had been on my own with this guy or took a lift.

I knew a girl, who was in the USA, a US citizen, she left her hubby, met a guy, moved in with her 2 kids. He shot her dead. Just before it happened, she tried to get back with her ex. To this day he kicks himself. What he didnt know is she was being threatened at that time by a samurai sword.

he didnt kill himself, hes in prison now and shes dead.
It wasnt the first date, but she moved in with him after
meeting him.

I think what you missed is, it wasnt love lol.
she met a socipath online, fell for the charm
and is now sadly dead. Just be aware.
It hits home when you actually knew the people.
