Is dating by Astrology the way to find true love? (135)

Ok. fair enough. And that would mean that I wouldn't get on with every Pisces girl? If I cared about someone, those things wouldnt matter, unless my family cared and they dont, or wouldn't. My point is, is it worth the while to look and take a chance? I'm 39 now, spent too much time on my career for the last 9 years and didnt care about myself or happiness....family etc. I am wondering is it enough to say right, stop, take my time and look at this broadly. I dont want to make a mistake like I did when I was 17 and date a girl for 13 years and then split up because it wasnt right? The girl was also a Tiger, which is good, as Tigers do get on together, thats why we stuck together so long, we were attracted to each other, but there was other stuff that wasnt right. And we all do it. My mum stayed with my dad until we were old enough and then left him, and she was right. But where does that leave her now....she's turning 60 and single, but with 8 kids that love her. But thats not a full life anymore....Why dont people take a step back, and dont purely rely on instinct or attraction...why not try to weigh up the odds that life with someone isnt always easy, and look to find a person that has a map based on astrology that leads to the right person...that points to peace, love and harmony....and take it seriously, before jumping without looking....

I've never dated anyone on the basis of astrological signs, but strangely enough the ones that were the most compatible were those that according to astrology should be more compatible with my sign. The absolute worst happened to be a Capricorn who is supposed to be a total anathema to a Libra....

MrVirgo: There is no rush, at least no rush to jump into a relationship without weighing up in advance if its got a better than average chance. Look at it this way, if I met a girl tomorrow randomly, and after a while say 3-4 months, and we both found that we were not compatible, then that would be another 3-4 months wasted with the wrong person. Then there's the whole dominant male/female situation ie some girls like to be dominant and some guys like to take the back seat and visa versa, so I guess its important to know this from the beginning.....
I don't think spending time with someone,even if he'she doesn't turn out to be the love of life,is a waste.Kind of sad way to look at things.

Thats fair enough to say, but your not in my shoes. I didnt say anything bad about the girl, because I loved her. I left the relationship because I felt that there was something going on with her with another guy who was 7 years our junior. 3 years after I left that relationship, the girl had a child with that "boy" and have got married and another child since. I'm not bitter because I walked out of the relationship. I felt for the last few years of the relationship that it wasnt right (relationship was 13 years in total), I guess I was looking for a reason. So time wasted might be too strong of a term, because we did have a lot of good times, but 13 years of my youth when there was loads of girls still single at that age, I do feel that I wasted lots of chances to find the right person. The last 9 years I've spent building my career which is starting to find its own feet now, again, probably time wasted again to find happiness. All work and no play etc etc...I've had a couple of short relationships in that time, but again with the wrong women. so is it wrong to try and find the most compatible person?
I understand what your saying, and that probably people shouldn't be judged on their sign, but look at it from my point of view, why not at least try once to find a woman thats "supposed" to be compatible...at least once.....Probably it wont happen, and I'll be single again for ages....but i'd prefer that, than to be trying to fit someone into my life and find out later that we dont match. I have loads of friends, so I'm never lonely, at least not at this age. So I'm weighing up the odds before jumping in.

I wouldn't say that's it's the way to find your true love, but I do tend to believe in astrology. When I've searched my personality traits, the astrology reading has me pegged to a T! It also has my friends of other signs pegged too. I don't USUALLY let it sway my decision in who I date though.

I think it's a numbers game, the more women you meet and get to know, in real life or on dating site forums/email the more chance you will find someone just right for you.. so by cuting vast numbers of women due to astrology would mean you would meet fewer women and lessen your chances to meet the right one.
I do understand you feel that the ones you do approach are likely to be 'right' for you, however I personaly don't believe that some sign/astrology can find your perfect woman.
A person could be perfect for you now at this stage because life/circumstances has changed you both and made you fit,but 10 years earlier you wouldn't have fit.
Maybe we all have to find our mate at a time when we are vulnerable, willing to take a risk and lonely enough to try hard.
Maybe we have to have been in other relationships,and learned the lessons needed to make this one work.
Who knows how many complicated elements come into play, that are beyond comprehension..

Ok, I'll give some examples. Firstly I am a twin. My dad is a Gemini. There's 8 kids in my family, six boys and 2 girls. The first girl is born in September, the same as me and my twin, the 2nd girl is born in october, and my mum was born in December. We, being me, my twin, 2 sis's and mum are born from sept to dec. All the rest of the boys are born from Jan to June. So basically me, my twin, 2 sis's and mum are born close to each other (me and my twin under the female sign virgo), so a broad coincidence. Virgos are akin to work in advertising, I do. Virgos are supposed to be clean and tidy, I am, my friends will verify that. Whn I was supposed to get married to a girl after a 13 year relationship, I always had a vision that I would propose in a restaurant in Manhattan that's supposed to be beautiful at dusk as all the city lights up. I ended up proposing on a beach late at night in Mallorca, spain. That was on a Wednesday. The day before, the twin towers were blown up. That restaurant was in one of the the twin tower buildings. My closest 3 friends are Leo, Virgo & Libra, which are all right beside me in astrological terms. The serious relationships that I have been in have either been capricorns or aquarius, which are at the opposite side. Pisces is dead opposite and & I have never dated a Pisces, and from researching Pisces would be my best match...In Chinese astrolgy, my sign is Tiger, and we dont get on with monkeys the most. I have one friend, not a close friend, that is a monkey, other than that I know no other monkeys, and I know alot of people because of my family size and job in advertising. I'm a wood Tiger also. Known for their fierce burst of energy and then can collapse with exhaustion quickly. When I play cards, I always, and I mean always win the first one or 2 hands, and then could go without a win for 5-10 hands (I dont play that much, so its always beginners luck. I am a lucky person as well, and I dont want to go into my financials, not that I ever won money or anything like that, but I have escaped a couple of hundred thousand bill by luck, and I have never found myself in a situation, maybe once or twice in my whole life that luck has not been on my side...so I'm blessed with that :)
Those are all big things in my life, and it seems that there is some truth in astrology based on those facts. So, Im definitely no Daphnie
