michael63ca: It was a stick shift, I drive those here, but I was a passenger in Jamaica. I have driven in Mexico too. Loved that! They drive like maniacs there!

Know what you mean. My best was as a motorbike taxi passenger in Benin - no road signs, no traffic lights, no traffic lanes...heck not even roads in some cases. Was thrilling.

Do you always signal??? It is so upsetting here in Florida,,,hardly anyone uses it. grrrrrrrrrrrr Even the police dont use it.

Totally agree! thumbs up

If someone doesn't have the mental capacity to flick a switch with just one finger, should they be driving at all?! uh oh help

I thought perhaps it was an optional extra that some drivers hadn't chosen and paid for....

Its my pet hate only overtaken (sorry!) by tail-gating.

Perhaps, if we are expected to just know what a driver intends to do, the car would be cluttered with crystal balls, ouija boards, rune stones, tarot cards and cups full of soggy tea leaves....

Glad I got that off my chest.... I feel so much better now. Thanks!

In China they have a different use to the rest of the world, here the indicator is set to flash like a "Follow Me " airport truck, they switch on the hazard warning and drive in a convoy, maybe 4-8 cars, and bumper to bumper at 35 mph, down the centre of the road so no one can overtake.
This can go for literally miles, causing huge tailbacks and then lost tempers as driver undertake and overtake at the same time.
Me, I use a scooter and just pass by lolmotorcycle

One of my pet peeves very mad I am constantly yelling at the drivers in town "Nice turn signal" when they don't use them. But alas they can't hear me their windows are rolled up and their A/Cs are turned on high, we may live in a very hot climate, but the town is only like a mile long so no use for an A/C for that drive to Walmart. help

the worst drivers in the US are in Columbus Ohio, our state capitol. Fortunately the highways have 3 and 4 lanes in each direction so it's rel;atively easy to avoid them.

truhearts hoggin' the lane rule would be a good one to fine people for here. the police would be as wealthy as oil barons

my secret wish is to have the right to evoke the driver's license of the person going 55mph in the left lane (passing lane here) when the speed limit is 65 mph and there are FOUR FRIGGIN' LANES....that's 3 options for that idiot to GET OUT OF THE WAY...lolmumbling laugh

hi True. It might surprise you that the laws to civer this type of driving have been out for more than 30yrs!
"Driving without due care and attention" and
"Driving without reasonable consideration to other road users" Both carried fines and points.
The police would report the offenders, but the CPS would just caution the offenders by letter.happy birthday cheers

Drivers are bad here. Yesterday I had a school bus driver blow a stop sign and I stopped and looked at her for a few seconds then proceded to the rest of the racetrack to work. What I do to drivers that don't signal is I stare at their headlights while they make their unanounce turn.laugh

BTW I am allowed to complain because I live here lol!angel laugh

BTW it is most likely non locals doing most of this because we have so much tourism being the state capitol and also rte 70 going straight through town (or the bypass) as a major if not THE major east to west aertery in the US!! So please remember that those of us who actually live here have some place we need to be :) danke! peace

Been driving since I was 16 and the way people some people drive today doesn't surprise me.

Signaling isn't just the problem it's drivers who are already on the highway and just cut in without really leaving room to pass.

This just doesn't happen in any particular state it's everywhere we go.

You are just a bunch of nosy people. It has nothing to do with other people where I am going. tongue Our town is so small that we need not bother about little things like that but I know how to behave when I am in civilization. cheers

People here are just trying to make conversation on the threads, not being nosy for pity's sake.

Signaling to change lanes or turn is a must everywhere, so many accidents occur because they just stopped to turn and someone slammed into them. We rely on drivers to drive their best. But also we have to drive defensively and never let our guard down because of people like you who "need not bother about little things like that".

My 16 year old daughter is just learning to drive, I am "white knuckling it" and almost putting my foot through the passenger side floor "braking" it!! help
