The alternative media is having a dramatic impact on the worldview of the country, so much so that US Senate is legislating against the only objective press left in the country.
It is a well-known fact that Senator Diane Feinstein wants your guns and now she wants control over your words. Feinstein believes that a proposed media shield law should be applied only to who she refers to as “real reporters.” Feinstein chastises other reporters as “basement-dwelling, pajama-clad bloggers with no professional credentials”

Feinstein’s Amendment includes the following verbiage which goes after nearly anyone who does not work in the corporate-controlled media in which she states that one is only a real journalist if they have worked for “an entity or service that disseminates news or information by means of newspaper; nonfiction book; wire service; news agency; news website, mobile application or other new information service…news program; magazine or other periodical…or through television or radio broadcast…” These people would have to have the “primary intent to investigate events and procure material in order to disseminate to the public news or information.” Opinion journalists are probably not be covered.
Is she a real Senator or just an old lady that won't go away..
"Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) insisted on limiting the legal protection to "real reporters" and not, she said, a 17-year-old with his own website."

The writer of this piece originally as spokesman for his community effectively fighting government seizure, activists would not be covered by association with their cause against the government..

Hhas that dumba** ever heard of the First Amendment? To change the Constitution of the US requires a bit more than a little add-on to a Bill by some Idiot-Senator!

Maybe they go around it by making free-media zones
To quote famed short seller David Einhorn: “No matter how bad you think it is, it’s worse.” On the “corruption among what passes for our elites” front, this story about self-dealing in the privatization of the Postal Service gives an indication of how bad things really are.

Panicked Mainstream Media Begins Killing Off Comment Sections Desperate to cling onto their ability to dictate reality, the crumbling mainstream media is beginning to kill off article comment sections in a cynical bid to silence dissenting voices.
Studies confirm that article comments sections – for better or worse – are heavily swaying public opinion. How many times have you read a mainstream news article about NSA spying, drones, gun control or any other other hot button issue where the author sides with the establishment, only to have their argument completely eviscerated by the respondents in the comment section?
Recent polls show that trust in mainstream media is hovering at record lows. After largely failing to influence the court of public opinion via paid trolls, the establishment is starting to panic and is responding by moving to cull comment sections altogether.’

I guess CS could be considered an alternative media because it gives forums for political and curernt events. Are we going to be silenced by this measure, That is a genuine question not looking for support??

A bit of silence from one or two might be considered welcome.

I wonder how long before discussion on another website is banned... Particularly quotes from article contents by and for corporate or government media propaganda..

read the real intent - limiting the legal protection versus protecting the "legal rights" to a 17 year old with his own website.
So America might go to that website and think it is "real news"
and while her approach to do this through the legislation process - which is clearly idiotic - and I have been saying for a while - stupid politicians - we got what we voted for.
