I haven't experienced anything like the incidents described here so I remain a sceptic or skeptic.

I dream a lot, and remember my dreams. Everybody dreams, but apparently it is only if one wakes up during or at the end of a dream that it can be remembered, hence the fact that many people say they don't dream. The problem is that our dreams are such a jumble of images and recounting a dream with any great accuracy is often impossible. Our brains can play tricks on us and research into the paranormal has not been researched into enough to come up with solid answers.

My father is an extremely pragmatic man (unlike my mother who claims she has seen a leprechaun and ghosts!) yet he claims he woke up suddenly to see my grandfather (his father) standing at the foot of his bed during the early hours of the morning many years ago, and which turned out to be the approximate time of my grandfather's death. dunno

Is something only paranormal if it can't be scientifically explained?

In which case, would the effects of gravity have been paranormal phenomenon before Sir Isaac Newton started messing around with apples and sums?

Could there be a pragmatic and rational explanation for these apparently paranormal phenomenon?

Did you know that sometimes sightless people can point to objects in a room on request and there's a rational, scientific eplanation for that?

LadyDiz: Right! I'll note you down for a haunting then?

As long as its not Reb in his kilt.

If he was floating about the ceiling and I woke up to that I might die laughing.

Well the definition as far as I know is exactly that, something which cannot be explained by what scientists know to date, and yes I imagine many unexplained phenomenas in the past could well have been termed as paranormal.

I know of many things which seemingly defy the rules of nature and may be explained in rational or scientific terms if one chooses to believe those explanations.

If one believes to choose in science?

This could become a very deep discussion...and a fun one. laugh

rebel2: Thankyou for sharing that A very tragic story, but the fact you "felt it",although painful is amazing. Some things we will proberly never be able to explain, and they will remain a mystery.

For quite a few years after Henry killed himself, whenever anything went wrong on the boat or on a dive, we jokingly blamed Henry. Secretly, when I would go down on the ledge looking for fish I would say to Henry, "Show me where the groupers are Buddy". I often felt he was with me when the hunting was good. Henry had trouble with depth perception and often ended up accidentally shooting small fish because, under water, fish look 25% bigger than they actually are. Whenever someone came up with a small fish we'd tease them and say "Henry told you that was a BIG fish, didn't he?!" I was angry with Henry at first. Then I was very sad for him. Then I was grateful for the lesson he taught me. Here's a hug backatcha, Scotsman! hug

rebel2: They say most people dream, which i dont doubt, but like many people,i am one of those that cannot remember what i dreamt.
I am not religious, and i have no fear of death, whether by old age, illness or foul means.
At the beginning of this year,i had a strange "occurance".
I retired to my bed at about 2am.
At 6.30am i awoke very abruptly.I had in fact dreamt of my death.Even now,i can remember every detail, all in slow motion.
I had no fear, and just took it in my stride, and accepted that it was a stupid dream,or i was going to die shortly.
I went back to sleep, thinking about seducing the women on here,so,back to normal.
At 6.55am,my mobile rang, which is unusual, and it was someone i know from the UK,who i had not seen for years. He imformed me that a certain person had died during the night, and wanted me to know.
I asked him what time the death was logged at.He said 5.30am.
The UK is one hour behind Spain,so in my time time that person had died at 6.30am,the time i woke up abruptly.
In my dream,i saw death,my death,or was it that person reaching out to me?
I dont know, its so much of a coincedence. That person wasnt expected to die,my dream of my death, the times relate.
Have you experienced anything like this?

yes I have, I was with a doctor in a surgery he also did alternative medicine..he passed his hands over above my body and said that he felt really weird warmth....I also felt weird...I didnt know it till later but my grandad died at that time...

I have also had other stuff happen where I have known stuff that I could never have possibly known about someone I have just met...so much so that it freaked them out...
