I can remember back when I was watching my mother canning fruits and veggies that my parents had planted.
I also remember my mother telling me how homegrown was always better then store bought.
Hoe the food stores put food coloring within the ground meat to make it appear bright red.As an experiment I took a small ball of ground beef and ran water on it and all the red coloring came out of it.The meat appeared to be a grayish color.
Later on I began to understand why my parents hunted for venison,raised chickens,geese etc.

we all have become to dependent on the easy access to food that has been doctored with god knows what. if our food supply was cut off . could we manage?
