Depressed after alcohol (9)

So obviously alcohol is a depressant and we all get a bit down after but does anyone else get very bad when they over do it

It's a vicious circle really. You (By you I mean people in general) feel very down or pissed off about something so you say 'I need a drink' but drinking makes it worse. It happens to a lot of people I reckon.

Well it is a depressant. So it will depress you eventually. If I ever felt really down after having a drink I would never drink again but I am lucky that I could make that choice.

Have a run is what I say....You always feel great after a run....endorphins streaming all over the place!

yes I do get depressed after alcohol, so I just avoid it as much as possible. It treats everyone differently, and some people, including me suffer mentally the next day, along with physically. I agree with one of the other posts about going out for a run, but that's difficult enough to do when your hungover.

So i sympathize with you, and let you know that you are not alone with that. I like to be on my own after alcohol the next day as much as i can, and doing something like cleaning helps me get over it, especially if I am at someone else's house. I think what happens is that i get a feeling of worthlessness, and cleaning helps me get through that feeling. Its not that I like cleaning, its just that I have an excuse not to look anyone in the eye or have a conversation with. The feeling eventually goes. I dont like that feeling so not drinking alcohol is the trade off. Alcohol doesnt suit everyone....

No, can't say I do, but I don't drink that often and I always know when to stop.
