New series of Love/Hate starting. Am I the only one "doesn't get it". I am by no means a prude but I think it glorifies thugs and is overly graphic. Am sure some people will agree as I'm sure some people wont. I like to hear your views on it ...

i've never watched a single episode of it , but i've never watched a crime drama that ever glorified that way of life.

Actually I think the series is largely based on real events. Therefore it is realistic. I do think Darren was unduly glorified all right but I think Nidge has always come across as pure unadulterated scum. Maybe this comes down to something as simple as the fact that Robert Sheehan is much better looking than Tom Vaughan Lawlor and so was given a more sympathetic twist. Mind you I found it hard to sympathise with him when he killed that innocent woman in cold blood last year because she saw him kill her husband.

I've only ever seen one episode and that was just because my son was here and he watches it, or at least he used to.

I agree with previous posters though, if it was a US show, there wouldn't be any discussion about it

Great show and fairly accurate I'd say. I don't think it glorifies anything. I watch it and think they are all scum while watching it. If you tried to say they were anything else then it's you who has the problem not the show.dunno

A lot of story lines rror actual events in Dublin over the years. Especially a feud started after brothers were killed, the arrests in the hotel when they were cutting up the gear and the feud with the RIRA.

I like the show and enjoy it for the entertainment is is supposed to be.

I am fully aware that it is a drama, but thank you sooooooo much for reminding me of that, what with having my head in the sand all being, being an Ostrich. Its a wonder |I remember to breath.

Glatlol: Thats more than I have ever seen, just never interested me.

I watched about a half hour of it a couple of years ago and it was so appalling I had to shoot my TV. RTE should leave the drama to women because they obviously don't have a clue.

No have never watched it, and by the comments on this thread

Yeah sounds brill!!. From all the hype this week about
killing a cat. If that's the highlight of the show,
hmm don't think so.
