I'm ok, being vego and primarily relying on lentil, chickpeas, tofu etc for protein (cheap as) but how people can afford meat, chicken and fish and then put fresh veg with them ... I do not know Erm and when did postage stamps start costing 80c
I usually go shopping about once a week. Have that little carry thing that hangs off my arm in the supermarket. Usually have to hang on to the milk as it crushes all the stuff in the basket.
Mostly vegies which I could buy cheaper than the supermarket from the greengrocer across the way. But they do not have everything I want. Which means going to the greengrocer for somethings, into the supermarket for some other things, and then back to the greengrocer after comparing prices. And then a few days later throwing out the rotten greengrocer produce.
My shopping bill (without fresh meat from the decent butcher) is about $50 each week. I spend more on that on the one night I take my daughter and son-in-law out for dinner each week ... he does have to have the 1/2 tonne steak
I line up in the checkout queues behind people who do have to have so many prepackaged foods. "That will be $360.64, Charlene. Do you have your Loyalty/Flybuys Card with you? Will that be EFPOS or Credit? See you next week, Charlene. Sorry, sir, there will be a slight delay while this valued customer loads up her trolley."
