Forget about weight watchers I need to get deep trench dug by pick and shovel, you wont need any weight watchers after a week of that.

It depends on your motivation : if you feel the need to go to a weekly class or not. If not and you are self disciplined go see a nutritionist. All the exercise in the world wont shed the lbs without good healthy balanced diet.....

There is some new thinking around the conventional 'healthy diet' as dispensed by most slimming groups.

Firstly , Congrats !! Losing that amount of weight walking is terrific.
I believe that all you've got to do is watch your portion sizes. Most of us each far too much on our plates. We need a certain amount of protein and that's very important, but go easy on Red Meat, chicken, Fish,White meat is best. A good sized potatoe is enough or a cup of rice. Doesnt sound alot but it's the Carbs.
Weightwatchers is somewhere you learn about losing weight but personally having been a yo yo dieter since my 30s, I found that it made be absolutely obsessed with food !! They puch alot of their own brands like instant meals and 'fat free Bars' which ARENOT SLIMMING. These bars make alot of money for the huge corporation behind W.Watchers. They havent any fat so they have to put alot of Sugars in. Sugar in various disguises, Maltrose, Dextrose, Sugar, Maple syrup, Corn starch, all these turn to fat and you would be better having the odd treat with a home made scone. Use Butter, don't be conned by Margarine, the ingredients are very unhealthy and dont help. Go easy on the butter but butter will fill you up. Dont forget your 5 portions of fruit and veg a day. Try to eat Broccolli, Carrots, things you love.
By all means join if you want to. Just remember... Diets dont work. Healthy lifestyle, eating and exercise do.
Dieting fast is ageing too [for women].
Alot of the Diet industry is a con. It promotes unhealthy 'DIET' food.
Sorry for the lecture but Its taken me years to come to the stage where I have ditched low fat foods and eat butter and some bread daily, put some butter on a spud for Dinner and have cut out Sugar. I walk too.
I really wish you the best. It's nice to have people in the same boat so maybe go to Ww.
Best of luck anyway, you look great.

Are they all not just scams that basically make people pay a fee every week to get weighed? If someone overweight eats 3 square meals a day, stays away from the usual crap like sweets and booze, and works out 3 or 4 days a week for 40mins the weight will falloff them.No need to pay any of these people at all. After all it's the person who does that hard work and they pay WW or Slimming World.

They dont suit everyone, fact pedro is now considering a group setting shows he is struggling alone, and to be honest lads he needs encouragement no matter what the form, doing the macho..do it alone and be a man isnt actually helping him.

if it was that easy..then pedro woulda lost 6 stone, in fact the thing that most people who need to shift weight have in common is lack of support and no drive for the end justifying the means..

these groups do it..they encourage friendships and sharing of ideas.. its not just a weigh in, and for the successful people..its a new way of eating forever, its not a short term goal, it took years to gain bad habits it will also take quite some time to fix them.

and slimming world seems to be one the dudes seem to get one with the best.

like any "diet" its getting to target weight and not yoyoing back up n down..

once at target u can weigh in free forever once u stay 3lbs above or below target. so like u sofar..or other people who watch their weight it teaches u to keep within ur healthy range.

that support and lessons gotta be worth 9 quid a week

well weight watchers as far as i know talk about targets min u join...

slimming world allow you to set it..and they do mini targets first..ie. half a stone..n so on.

different strokes for different folks..what works for one wont always work for another..

think the best thing is recognising the need and doing something, no matter what.

My problem with them is the things like "Target Weight".

the reason i brought up "target" is cos at target ur dont pay a weekly fee with most these groups..so if the jobs done u can weigh in forever free..and believe me..many are and will.

I never knew that. It still makes me uneasy though. We all have a natural healthy weight. It differs from person to person and that is why healthy BMI's have such a high range. And BMI's don't tell the whole story either. Plenty of thin people are very unhealthy.

It's just a pet peeve of mine. I think a lot of these companies take advantage of people at tough spot in their life.

they dont set it..and it can be at ur highest on the scale if u get me..

things are transparent with these..its the shakes n bar people that need a good kick in the bollix in my opinion.
