As for stress for Black mothers, I think the only stress I had was the same as any other woman. No sleep, tired, too much to do.
The only added thing I had to deal with was people thinking I was the nanny of my own children. That just made me shake my head.

It isn't the stress of early motherhood as the deaths are occurring within the hours/days before, or after birth. We're talking still births, or babies dying barely having been in their mother's arms.
One issue I remember being discussed was how black mothers had to watch their older children go through discrimination in the education system and how stressful that is.
Your earlier comment about what your kids might be in store for was the stimulus for me posting about the study.
I spent most of my adulthood looking about 13 years old, so I was often mistaken for my daughter's big sister. Luckily, it was fairly easy to spot we were at least related, although my daughter did once get a bit upset at someone referring to me as 'her little friend'. I was 41 at the time.

I won't lie I think as we get on in years being thought of your kids sister may not be a bad thing.
All in all people have different experiences. For the most part I've been lucky compared to others. I just it holds out.
