Since the F-22 Raptor is unavailable to anyone BUT the USA, might as well replace our present airforce with the same, but upgarded to Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet. The F18 is probably the best "general" fighter jet for a country unable to afford numerous and different jets to meet specific jobs! And the Super Hornet certainly is a very capable fighter jet. If we really wanted to annoy the US we could get the very scrappy yet excellent long-range Sukhoi Su-27 from Russia.
