NotABlonde: Used to always stick a sausage casserole and baked potatoes in the oven, go watch the fireworks display, come home and thaw out.

As a kid I used to think the celebrations were because it was my birthday the next day.

dancing wave banana cheering peace Happy Birthday.

Also my son-in-law's the same day.

Just got through my daughter's on Monday - her mother-in-law and "partner" held us up (we were going out for lunch) as a "special delivery" was arriving. It turned out to be the mother-in-law and "partner" plus the "I am a very happy" sister-in-law for a BBQ lunch.

And need to remind my daughter to ring her mother on the 16th. She keeps forgetting. And also the her mother-in-law's "partner" the same day.

Hope she calls the important one.roll eyes

Glitch101: Hi Torless.

Here in the UK it goes on for weeks unfortunately. Controlled parties are fine but even then they can cause death. This happened last year and 7 people were killed.

My animals get very stressed especially the dog.

Tonight could be a washout as it's pouring with rain.

would be better if NZ only had public displays. It is stressful for animals, the casualties from burns and the fire dept are always kept busy.

So, the mother-in-law's """""partner"""" What's the significance there? Why the quotes?
