Lookin4missright: Always enjoy your wisdom H Can please explain blue part "Luckily I'm a nice guy and told her she doesn't have to give up anything for me."

Ha ha. Yeah I can explain.

There are some blokes who do not understand love. They find a gem and just like any other valuable they have, they think that they own her.

I have seen many an ugly Australian abroad. I mean that is why they go abroad.

Chinese women, well actually many Asian women, have been brought up in a culture where a man is king, and they do not understand the "enlightened" western liberalisation of many females.

I have heard this saying said by some men. "my girlfriend is whatever I say that she is" in relation to their Asian partner.

To tell you the truth, Asia is a great place for a male to get an ego trip. I had an 18 year old girl go ga ga over me when I was having my studio photos taken. Anna was very jealous and upset. She saw this 18 year old as a threat.

When I began to date Anna, she was very worried. In her culture, "a great man marries a younger woman". She is slightly older than me, so this posed a difficulty for her culturally.

So this is what I meant. When we are dealing with another culture, we must be very clear, very sincere and very direct to avoid massive misunderstandings, and also to avoid taking advantage of those who have been brought up on a society where they are valued less than others.

Obscuritan: No! Are you saying he was murdered? Or accidental?
Well it's great that you had a mate for a while. I don't know, think a marriage needs to be a bit like that; you need to be mates after the lust wears off.
So you're saying you are scared to trust because of the risk of infidelity? You know, I don't think it's that common.

So you're smitten with a woman from another country? Which country; give us a clue.

Dating is a game of numbers, 3 in ten will have a listen to what you have to say and 1 in 10 will make that extra step. wine
