If it is true, then these are some very alarming news. This is the first time I hear of something like this, so I can neither confirm nor dismiss it, but I will contact a few friends in Greece and revert if I have something worth posting... blues

I wouldn't be suprised because they cut almost everything to the bone and the unemployment rate is skyrockething so people do what they got to do and lets face it HIV is not as deadly as it used to be now the average person on therapy can live quite well and long

Please do, Krokox, it's always best to hear it from those close to the source rather than a media report. Very upsetting, let's hope it's nothing more than alarmist reporting sad flower

This is a new article regarding the issue, where WHO withdraws the statement and apologizes. Some friends confirmed that indeed HIV is spreading amongst heroin users and some of them in their desperation for the dosage may self-inflict HIV, but the HIV percentages remain rather low in comparison to other western countries. Other than that, no, people have not yet reached this level of desperation, although the increased levels of unemployment influences many people, who have now turned into more traditional occupations, such as agriculture, etc...

Thanks for the update. Good to hear it's not as widespread as the story makes it out to be. Desperate times for some, no doubt but it's a good reminder not to believe everything one reads smile thumbs up
