Oh yes, all the psychopaths are watching their soaps right now but in about an hour you'll want to keep you back to the wall.

When someone is feeling overcome with emotion it's called feeling strong. Yes, a contradiction in terms but then again isn't talking about emotions a bit of a contradiction too?

MarsMan: Well..it is a group...and I would say there are some who definitely need therapy.

Well, it honestly does not feel like a group to me. Group I generally associate with a togetherness feeling, but I mean.. who here feels 'together'? And I don't just mean it as in having it mentally together tongue
It is more like a warzone of varying individuals, or maybe for some an orgie uh oh

To me it is mainly a place to throw ideas about or to pick some up, but I feel very 'detached', no 'familiarity' thing like I would assume groups have, but then again.. I have never been part of a group, so maybe I got it all wrong and have accidentially become part of a group? *starts to hyperventilate again* wow

Oh okay, thank you, nopes, never heard that term *makes a mental writing of it*

As for the second part.. I am declaring truce on that for the moment as I have to think that one over first *feels that was a clear dig of some sort and mutters something under her breath*

oh, and also.. that 'strong' saying in regards to being overcome with emotions could of course refer to that it can take strength and courage to allow the self to feel, as emotions can make us vulnerable. Enough hurt received and we might avoid feeling to avoid further pains, and it is debatable who actually shows the greater strength - the one who dares regardless or the one who abstains. So maybe no contradiction there at all?

Guess though it depends on who does the judging whether it is seen as strength or just strong idiocy to allow emotions to rise and gain control uh oh

*hums some tune from 'Annie get your gun', while wondering off to see neighbour who wants to go get license organised for her today* heart wings

tinyfangs: Okay, as a being who is capable of 'strong' emotions and willing to communicate them too, I sort of took slight affront to that 'statement'/'rethorical question'

It if often assumed of people who don't 'emote' a lot, who don't gush then innermost feelings onto the world, that they are not feeling or capable of feeling emotion. This may not be the case. Emotions can be intoxicating and overpowering to some people and to others they are easily experienced without overpowering the dominant personality. Two pints of beer might put one person on their ear but another person might not even feel the effects.

It is possible for one person to be aware of a traumatic time in their life, to fully experience the emotional feeling generated from that experience and still remain calm. They are holding the emotion, it is not dominating them. For another person the same amount of emotion can make them high and overcome - 'strong'.

But which of us can really judge the inner world of another creature. I wonder is the 'woman emotion'? Like 'manflu'? laugh

Actually it has never crossed my mind that someone who 'emotes' less, has less depth of emotion available, and I emote just to add a bit of extra dimension to flat text; excuse the novelist who is used to creating details, they sort of demand that from us moping

Oh yieks, I just wonder what the fact that I only need to smell alcohol to get tipsy, says about me uh oh which now makes me wonder.. is the exposure to emotions maybe also of relevance? I mean as in - if you feel often strong emotions that it becomes something the system doesn't recognise much anymore?

To judge another's inner world fully might never be possible, and I assume the more complex an individual, the less possible, but as for 'man flu' - I actually had never heard the term before spending time in Liverpool, first time there that I heard it, and I assumed it was just referring to flu overall, and am still not certain in what context it truly is used.
Female emotions though.. I can only judge mine, and they do indeed at times need patrolling their borders, with sharp hounds and guns at the ready, but so far I think I am quite good at catching any escapees :) (might take some hunting and wrestling them down, but containment and ultimatly order eventually does get restored cool )
