Antoniacv: Thanks , but no thanks ALi.

Religion IMO should be always be separated from LAW.

NObody has the right to tell the others what should they believe.

The law should be for everybody...not just for believers.

I am not a believer , im an atheist , and i dont want any religion to tell me what to do and how to be have.
If some people needs or wants religion in their lifes...that's ok... and it's a private business... but they should NOT force ME to follow it.
I have the right to NOT believe.

That's a very good point, Antonia.

There was an article in the Times on the 30th October regarding there being no place for religion within the British legal system, such that it was a democratic, secular institution, fair to all of Britain's population.

Oops, I can't get the Times report in full. Here's the Daily Mail's...

abcWOMAN: Are you angry with us in west?
No Ali, we're quite happy with our laws!

Some would say that the East is quite happy with their laws and the West shouldn't interfere.

I'm not sure I'm happy with all our laws in the UK and I hope that will continue to evolve. Stagnancy within the law is a dangerous thing, I feel.

Leo_7: stoneage laws.

Maybe even a bit insultive to stoneagers. After they did discover fire and invent the fur coat, where as islam only seems to place an embargo on rational thinking and fun.

Is there really any need for blatant insults and propaganda aimed Islamic culture?

I find it a bit ironic if we're discussing the fairness of our respective laws and systems of justice.

How can we expect all of our cultures to become fairer to all citizens when we're not prepared to practice that ourselves?

I can agree to that! thumbs up

We get plenty of new laws all the time, some from EU and some domestic. I can only relate to Sweden and the Nordic countries. Comparing to how it's here and how it's in the East, I feel quite satisfied. At least we don't live in a society where a woman needs a man's permission or be his "servant".handshake

chame1eon: You can keep your disease called islam. It isn't wanted in the civilized world.

Ych i fi.

Can't you be civil and view things without prejudice.

Y'know, like a grown up?

You get extremists, corruption and uncivilised behaviour in all religions and walks of life.

The biggest issue for me with ancient religious laws is the lack of evolution to meet modern times.

The UK isn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but we do have mechanisms for change and growth.

jac379: Absolutely.

And noone should fear being in their own home, or to walk the street regardless of age, gender, or anything else.

We each need to recognise where things are going badly wrong and where we need to make changes.

None of this means we each don't have our good points, too and that we may learn from each other.
