My Great Gran was a herbalist, and I've always shared her passion for herbal remedies, my garden is full of them.. Must work as my children (who are grown now) have never seen a doctor, and I only ever went to see one during my pregnancys... I do believe The earth has a cure for everything (even cancer and Aids)we will find it one day. Do you have any natural home remedies to share for health or beauty?
Example.. Cinnamon in tea everyday, lowers blood pressure considerably
Use olive oil instead of moisturizer. Its full of vit E and keeps the elastisity of the skin

Natural remedies, generally, don't work very well on me...except one. A bit of warm water with a tsp of manuka honey and a quarter to half a teaspoon of tumeric mixed in. Fantastic for a tight chest and cough.

Hi Serena here we do a lot of natural remedies as well ....... I guess we inherited it from our Mayan ancestors. But I grew up with the honey/lime/garlic mixture for cough remedy. Castor Oil for cleansing (oh those were awful!!; tea from soursop leaves; cinnamon and diced garlic as well for hypertension.

I agree, and I'm also a strong proponent of the medicinal value of bloodletting. Feeling a bit woozy? Slight headache? There's a leech for that.

Lemon also works miracles! Cut half a lemon and rub it over your heels, elbows and back of your hands, makes them soo smooth and soft, also lightens sunspots, lemone juice on wrinkles also diminishes them drasticaly after a few weeks!
A jug of water kept in the fridge with sliced lemon and fresh mint, and drunk instead of just water helps with intestinal spasms, bloating, and! Helps suppress your appetite! :))

This is a good tip although i would squeeze half a lemon into the water, this refreshing and helps you innards. It also gives enough vit C for the day.

I found this on the net the day before yesterday and This morning I made it ;

For Sore Throat;

Ingredients:
- 2 lemons thoroughly cleaned and sliced;
- 2 piece of ginger about the size of your pointer and middle finger together sliced into coin size pieces;
- Honey;
Preparation:
In a clean 12 oz mason jar (2 cup size) put thinly sliced lemons and ginger and add honey. Stir well. Close the jar and place it in a fridge where the ingredients will turn into jelly.
Use:
Put a spoonful of the jelly in a glass and add hot water. Drink this tea whenever you wish and need it.

This homemade remedy can be used for three months, which is an excellent advantage. It is recommended for both children and old people mostly because it contains no artificial or harmful ingredients.
