would if I could Robo , all the old logs lying around and the hawthorn trees covered in berries has a bit to do with the rats .probably ferets and weasels cause more problem with the wild life

A lot of work has been done on whats predating our birds . Ferrets and stoats are the worst by a long way . Rats and possums handle the tree nesting birds . I have see infra red clips of possums raiding bird nests .
I had a ginger Tomcat that loved killing rabbits, he must have killed over 100 in about a month - also killed a number of rats and mice. Cats are useful when they do this - not all killing is bad.
Well cats carry toxoplasmosis and when rats are infected with it there
