MADDOG69: Does me have a big mickey?

lol, i dunno, you'd have to ask their wives/fiancee that question - but if rumour is correct then from what ive heard - yes they are "big" ....

and as for using steroids - we dont use steroids. to compete in any strongmem/strongwomen competitions u are tested regularly for banned substances/steroids. we all gain our muscle and strength the proper way, we eat 5 healthy meals a day, train 5/6 days a week. personally i take whey protein, Pump HD, Amino build, energy gels and protein bars. i play rugby as well as strength training so i use more supplements that just strength trainers do. so not all muscle men CHEAT, only the stupid ones do steroids. Pa, the boys and i, we work hard to get to where we are, and as for the post about women with muscles being unattractive - each to their own opinion on that, but im a size 12 with lean muscle, and ive got plenty of offers from men, mostly younger than me. so not all men are put off by it.

I'm sensing a little insincerity laugh

I've been training for many years, the proper way. I don't do steroids but I train full tilt with proper nutrition. For a normal bloke I'm fairly well muscled but I'd be laughed off the stage if I tried to get on the same stage as the lads who are taking steroids. There's only so far you can go without chemicals and anyone who has trained for a few years knows it.

The bodybuilders are easy to spot because they are doing massive amounts but if you look at the Olympics, professional rugby and even the GAA, you will see most of them are on it. Good genetics, nutrition and training will only get you so far and that's not far enough to get on the county team these days.

Nah.... sure young lads in their early 20's never went after the "Durty Thurtys"... nah that never happened... I can never remember us using that phrase either when I was that age. grin grin

Here's the thing I wondered... is it not the case that Steroid use *only* gives you 5% faster muscle accumulation? Or is it much more. Maybe it was just something I read to discourage it.. confused

I have no idea but I'd say it's a lot more. I get about 3% in a year without but I'd say all the gains I've made in the last ten years I could have done in one on the juice.

It's easy to understand why some lads who are in sports take them to make the team. Making the county team or getting selected to play for Ireland is a big pay off. I remember when Keith Wood was playing for Ireland I was training in a steroid infested gym and the lads there used to be commenting on the particular roids you would be taking to get the recovery speed he got after injury. They could pretty much tell you what he was stacking and what amounts. The doctors with those teams know well what's up. They're not administering the stuff but if they want to keep their job they keep it zipped.
