mjpd67: a good man will always make the cuppa and light a cigarette for his woman after some hot lovin
You know i honestly think that is a genuine quality of a man that needs to portrayed a bit more.
There is so much about protectiveness, confidence, providence, aggressiveness that people overlook the paternal aspect of it. There is a nurturing need to a man that honestly needs to be reflected more i think.

I think protectiveness and what mjp mentioned can be linked? I mean protecting also ties in with caring?
Will think on this a bit more and hit everyone with an essay once I have found a way to formulate what I feel is important (or maybe not, maybe for once I will say nothing and shock everyone that way )
ChiefOhara: Its an honest question, open to honest people.
We all live life to our own standards, but asking as a man to other men and women, what defines a good man to you?
Well no offense to you...this is a question that is often asked...same as what is a good woman? We are all people and if we choose to be an a**hole then that is not a gender thing. To answer your question...a good guy is just a decent person who treats everybody in his life with respect whether it is his parents, his siblings or his friends.. Then again..that is only my opinion....It should not even be broken down to gender..a female should also care about her family and friends also and respect others as should any guy on CS...YAY

No offence taken,
I guess i am asking this question for selfish reasons, in what is expected of me as a gender.
looking at all the various profile expectations of this site, people want different things from a prospective partner, and all i am asking here is what they want specifically from a male gender.
From what i see age and different stages and priorities of life play a very significant part here in choosing a partner. Any man can say he is a good man, and most of us genuinely are! I guess all i want to know is what proves it to woman?

Speaking for me, the only thing I expect from someone when I meet him is being honest and upfront about what he wants and that we can talk about things.
Everyone has different things that float their boat and it changes as we get older or as our life changes.
We all have different things that attract us to someone, being kind and caring is something which attracts me to someone.
