Merriweather: giving Australians a fair go..

mmmm...wine. Although I managed to get through about 4 bottles over the Christmas period... I still have to drink a great deal more before I can go purchasing more. I think I need to be more social. smile

Good morning Abagail..

I don't drink much of any alcohol... but I do buy it... because my dear dad likes it... and because I like to have something in the house..

I bought a heap for Christmas to give away... and take to wherever I was going..

so for me... I thought it better to support the underdog... and actually, feedback said... it was really good stuff...

so all good... no good me going into a bottleshop... because I don't know one from another...grin

Hello Merri,

I was just reading a little bit about Angels. Brilliant idea... keeping the Australian wine industry alive. I do buy wine, from cellar doors. BUT I had to slow down... My wine rack only holds about 70 bottles.

I like the way you think, Merri.

Not being a "red" drinker, it is hard to "put down" the bottles for future enjoyment.

Watched a very interesting "Best of Landline" recently about Aussie whiskey whisky production. Looks like some in Tassie are taking on the Scots at their own game.

You can cellar whites too, Wash... you simply need to choose your wines.

I have known that about Tasmania for awhile. They have a single malt whiskey...when I purchased the product several years ago, it was the only one manufactured in Australia I believe. It's a very good product.

White wines are not crushed with skins like the reds, so it is pointless to cellar white wine. dunno

Not entirely pointless. I have had European white wines that I kept for 15 or so years that were exceptional.
