Old game now and critics seem to part opinion on it, I think, but I found it quite fasctinating (and utterly scary as I was petrified of my creature and what it would get up to

Console.. I found Skyrim amazing, although I am petrified of the dungeons
Online games, if one has a lot of money to burn, I'd say Entropia Planet Calypso
It can be played for free, but that's time intensive. If one can spend money, then it must be one of the ultimate experiences. Just running the continent to open portals was insane. Ended stuck, needed hunters (highly equipped players) to come out for the rescue, never came across anything like that in any other game. The alien landscapes, the flora and hostile wildlife followed me into my dreams, it felt 'real' in ways no other game has ever felt real to me.
But for me personally it's LotrO (Lord of the Rings Online). Always return to it, Middle Earth holds part of my heart captive :)

are perfectly colour coordinated with your hair colour

Flight simsmodermen: Flight sims
Ya. The thing about them is though, it requires some expense at the start. A suitable Flight Controller, Head Tracking and a decent computer to run them in High Quality Settings.
Oh and hundreds of hours of practice and time to read a few thousand pages of manuals and documentation. But once you master it, it is rewarding, subjectively speaking.
