I can hear it blowing down the chimney on the lovely fire I have going but we are warm an cosy here. No going out again for us tonight. Reheating dinner from yesterday and watching a DVD that the kids got and enjoying having family around hug

Thats going to be some serious wind power coming blasting through here the middle of the night,150 kmh inland gusts, theres going to be some serious high swells around the coast at high tide.

Does anyone know for how long it is meant to last?

And yes, just battled it out with my hayshed door in the wind, not at full power yet the storm here don't think, but it is coming uh oh

There are already massive sweels. I wasn't listening the the liars Met Office, are they saying 150mph? It looks bad but the one last week looked worse although it went north of us. The worst of it is just hitting the Mizen head about now and you might be able to judge yourself the speed from the difference between this pic and the one from an hour and a half ago.

Becoming very stormy this evening with gale force southeast winds veering southwest early tonight and further veering westerly tomorrow. Severe and damaging gusts of 120 to 140km/hr expected and 150km/hr gusts in exposed coastal areas.
Very high seas also with significant danger of coastal flooding also.
Winds moderating Friday afternoon and evening.

I am not too worried, my property sits quite snug, my oldest building is around 500 years I think and still standing, so I'd say this is quite a safe spot gift but thank you for the comforting words rose

Love storms actually, and we are cuddled up here and are listening to the howling smile but worried for those in Cork, sounds like they are hit hard blues

Yes Cork appears to be getting the worst of it at the moment. hopefully Donegal will escape the worst.
