All depends on the class of music. Rhapsody In Blue is great jazz, but I could listen to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody over and over again. Both are great for their genre.

For classical music, I prefer Blue Danube (Strauss II), 1812 Overture (Tchaikovsky), Water Music (Handel), Bolero (Ravel), Waltz of the Flowers (Tchaikovsky - Nutcracker Suite).

..all depends on how I am feeling.

wash2u: "Pop" as in popular??????

Ray Miller was popular during WWII. A mate was popular with his music in the UK charts with the band Armagedon Now (heavy metal). I loved their music, hated the singing.

My father's favourite entertainer was Johnny O'Keefe. I enjoyed him as an entertainer but he was not a good singer.

I do love to listen to Dean Martin and Julie Garland (especially "Over the Rainbow")

wave Pop music as it is called is short for popular originally.
Judy Garland singing that almost brings a tear to the eye.

Which is why I have to be in a good mood to put the Judy Garland CD on.

Watched the Edinburough Tattoo on New Years Eve. The swirl of the bagpipes does stir a few emotions.

Not classical but "These Foolish Things" Ella Fitzgerald does a top job of it, about 1936. I can see myself with a dry martini draped over a piano - Gatsby style?

Bryan Ferry did an updated version and being a red hot total spunk - drooool heart wings

wave Thread title a bit confusing where it says Classical, and then
Pre Pop. which Classical is, but not what I think he was looking for.
