1. Wash Friend helping Friend
My mate Shorty and I have done many inland trips over the years without any real problems. We were stuck in the middle of nowhere (see photo when all was done). This is where another friend came to our rescue - Carl towed us 789kms into Alice Springs when we thought we had to abandoned the vehicle.

2. LiLee Mates Dad Bert and Bruce
my dad Bob. It was taken around 1960 when he was around 20 years old. He's the one at the back. He has his lifelong mates Bert and Bruce on either side of him with Bruce's brother on the far left. They had traveled up to the Gold Coast from Newcastle for a holiday. The Gold Coast would have been a very different place then and the road north resembled a goat track in places. They look like their having a great time and someone obviously has just spilt their drink. These men are still the best of friends and see each other regularly despite the fact that they now live fair distances away from each other. True mates for life

3. LiLee Friend for OS Holiday
This is my friend Elaine who persuaded my to take my first and only, so far, trip overseas to accompany her to Bangkok. Here she is at the Chatuchak markets and she was getting her portrait drawn. She threw it away after cause she didn't like it. If it wasn't for her I never would have taken that trip and opened my eyes to a big world outside of Australia.

4. RobP Good Morning Vietnam
Once upon-a-time-a long time ago i was billeted in the same BEQ as Robin Williams. Every morning a GI, a big African colored guy, ran flat out the front door of our billet past the sentries right into the middle of an endless steam of traffic, throw his arms up and yelled at the top of his voice “Good Morning Vietnam” that's where Robin Williams got the title of his movie from.

5. Happy Making New Friends
This is a pic of a friend of mine drinking on the Indian River enjoying a Saturday outside at one of the Tiki clubs. She is twenty one and no one can understand why we enjoy each others company on a friendship scale. That day we did not plan it but showed up dressed very similar. Black tee shirt, jeans, and black sneakers. We have a lot in common. Friendship with me is not about an age number but how I feel with the person. I am thrilled that a young person will take time out of their busy lives to spend a laid back Saturday with me. I feel blessed with the people in my life. They humble me .....

6. 19ccJudy Best Friends John and Bob
This is my late husband John and his best friend Bob. They met in college and began a lifetime of fly fishing together. They fished the west coast, the east coast, Alaska and Canada together. They always took a six pack of beer, and had three each at the end of the day, talking and enjoying each others company. When John passed, he had a large collection of fishing gear, I could have stored or sold but giving it to Bob seemed the only thing to do and I did. Bob said it would stay in the family always and he has started a annual memorial fishing trip down the Nolichucky river in a canoe.

7. Wash Boulia Camel Races with Friends
25 years ago, a higher position at work was advertised and I was given to an outsider. 20 years ago, he said he was going on a trip through Central Australia and I asked him if he wanted company. We have since travelled to many places in Australia, often just the 2 of us although of late in company with a small group of friends. And we seen so many different things. Without this friend, I would not have gone to see the whales at the Head of the Bight, found a post put in by my old boss in 1954, or stayed in so many great places that most people would never see. Days of sand and stunted trees and then something really worth experiencing. Boulia Camel Races.

Out driving one weekend,arrrrr big ditch,car is stuck,so we decided to sit and ponder the situation for awhile,mmmmm 3 hours later thought we should get the car out,2 1/2 hours later on our way again

10. Epirb Weekend with the Boys
trip with three mates mid eighties bottom left corner from left to right Wayne, Reid and Tom in his undies . We flew in south west of mount Hikurangi for a week hunting . Cattle , deer and pigs was the aim . I nobbled three cattle ,Wayne and Tom put a slug each in a VERY BIG STAG while Reid got wet .

14 RobP New Camp Friends
I camped for a while in the Nariel Creek Rect Reserve near Corryong then in middle of the night, at one am; these good folks narrowly missing my camper, flat-out they zoomed into camp during total fire ban, promptly lite huge bomb fire for light and we exchanged words the next evening we enjoyed a really good Bar-Q together
