tomcatwarne: No No, I was thinking like a spider
hahah... the story is true...
however, the spiders don't go cooking themselves.. the put themselves in a position of height to catch the bugs.. but in doing so... they get awfully hot up there, and don't expect the sizzling heat to come their way..
and of course it does.. so bingo... they drop 'cooked' to the ground..
Shall I pass you the salt and pepper, or would you prefer a bit of dead horse..

False.
2. Stick insects can reproduce parthenogenetically, without the need for males. Stick insects are a nation of Amazons, able to reproduce almost entirely without males. Unmated females produce eggs that become more females. When a male does manage to mate with a female, there's a 50/50 chance their offspring will be male. A captive female stick insect can produce hundreds of all-female offspring without ever mating. There are species of stick insects for which scientists have never found any males.
When we used to have cookouts in a park, inch worms would be dangling from threads from the trees above. When the wind blew they were blown over the grill, killed and dropped in the fire.

True or False?
I have never heard of inchworms dangling from threads, but they could well have dropped from trees into the fire. However I'm going to say false.

I couldn't believe it either. It was like they would spin a thread to lower themselves to the ground. The unlucky ones were blown the wrong way.

This is true.
I was going to answer true and then I was going to answer false. Then I decided not to answer.

Once upon a time.. ( only coz I like to start with that )
watching the spiders fall from the top of the pergola rafters, it'd been hot, and I figured they had cooked themselves up high??
