Watching my mother die .. I was 39 years old at the time .. knowing the rest of the family had gathered but she let go while I held her hand and I knew it was probably the worst yet best time of my life, to be with her.
Having the man I had met only six months before, early stages of a relationship, take his own life.
Being with my son at the lowest point in his life, in despair.
These experiences, amongst others, have provided me with resilience, understanding, insight and empathy and have given me the capacity to enjoy every moment and to live life to the fullest.
Life standstill for no-one, you either live in the past awaiting your end or get on with it and make what you can of it.

Life is difficult, no doubt, but there's so much beauty out there particularly in nature and I think (hope) our experiences help us to appreciate them

wow and I often ask myself how well do we know people we interact with on the forums and in real life.Watching my mother die .. Another low point in my life was when my best friend decided to dive of the cliffs at a very popular beach and was left a paraplegic for the next 15 years before he died. This was a friend I traveled overseas with and he was suppose to be there till the end to share those memories at BBQ's.it has been years since he passed away and he still pops in now and then in my dream to say g'day.
